An Afternoon of Festive Joy and Connection at Sunlove Home
This year, Giveinstead.sg was honoured to partner once again with the Lions Club of Singapore Central in organising a special lunch gathering for the residents and staff of Sunlove Home for the Intellectually Disabled at Buangkok View.
Residents were treated to a delicious lunch, refreshments, and an atmosphere of celebration, care, and togetherness that filled the home. The afternoon was made even more memorable by the appearance of the God of Fortune, which really delighted the residents and staff alike. It was a highlight of the event, and many residents were visibly thrilled by the festive surprise. Throughout the gathering, it was wonderful to see so many smiles and moments of simple happiness shared by all.
Sunlove Home provides long-term residential care for persons with intellectual disabilities, many of whom have spent much of their lives there. For some residents, the home has become the centre of their world. Moments like these therefore matter deeply. They remind us that beyond physical care, every person deserves joy, dignity, companionship, and the feeling of being remembered by the wider community.
The event was also an opportunity to recognise the remarkable staff and caregivers of Sunlove Home, whose patience, dedication, and compassion sustain the residents every day. Their work is demanding and often unseen, and we were grateful for the chance to celebrate and appreciate them as well.
We would also like to thank all the volunteers who helped make the gathering possible. From distributing meals to interacting with residents and helping create a warm, welcoming atmosphere, your generosity of spirit made a real difference.
At Giveinstead.sg, we believe celebrations can become something greater when they are shared with others. This event was a beautiful reflection of that belief, a reminder that joy grows when it is extended outward and has the power to uplift, connect, and bring light to others in lasting ways.
We are grateful to have been part of this special occasion, and we look forward to creating many more opportunities to turn celebration into kindness.
