A Christmas to Remember at Sunlove Home
This Christmas, Giveinstead.sg was honoured to partner with the Lions Club of Singapore Central to bring festive cheer to the residents and caregivers of Sunlove Home for the Intellectually Disabled at Buangkok View.
We celebrated the season with a special Christmas lunch for 500 residents and staff. It was a meaningful occasion for the residents who live within structured routines and rarely get to enjoy festive treats.
Sunlove Home provides long-term care and shelter to individuals with intellectual disabilities, some of whom have lived there for decades and may have little to no family support.
Residents enjoyed a nutritious bento set comprising tomato spaghetti with chicken breast, spinach, and fresh fruits. Halal meals of mee goreng with chicken were also served, and the festive meal was sweetly concluded with ice cream for dessert. Seeing residents light up as they enjoyed their meal and interacted with volunteers was a beautiful reminder of how small gestures can create big moments of happiness.
Besides the residents, this celebration was also an expression of gratitude to the dedicated caregivers and staff of Sunlove Home, whose compassion, patience, and dedication, sustain the care and well-being of the residents each day.
At Giveinstead.sg, we believe that celebrations can be transformed into opportunities for giving. This Christmas event was a reminder that when we share our joy with others, we create lasting memories for those we serve, and also for ourselves. Through generosity, care, and community, we can spread kindness and dignity to those who need it most.
Here’s to many more celebrations that bring light, love, and connection into the lives of our community.
