Together for Furano: Nourishing Hope in 2026 and Beyond

Building Hope in Furano: Food, Dignity & Opportunities for Youth

In the heart of Hokkaido’s beautiful Furano, many children, elderly, and youth quietly struggle — with poverty, food insecurity, and a lack of opportunities to grow.
Together with NPO Miraito, Furapera Community Aid Network is working to ensure no one is left behind.Your donation directly supports food aid, education access, and youth empowerment initiatives that bring nourishment, learning, and hope to those who need it most.

Tackling Food Insecurity

The Furano Food Bank, managed by NPO Miraito, provides consistent and nutritious food to children, families, and the elderly facing hardship.
Through monthly food pantries, hot meal programs, and children’s cafeterias, local volunteers including students and young adults help create a warm and inclusive community.

Your contribution helps us:
* Deliver essential food supplies to over 300 families annually via food pantry program
* Host community meal events that serve over 1000 people each year
* Reduce food waste by processing and distributing surplus produce from local farms
* Ensure that vulnerable residents including single-parent families and isolated elderly never go hungry

Supporting Youth: Bridging the Education and Experience Gap

Beyond food aid, we are deeply committed to supporting youth who feel lost, socially isolated, or unsure of their future direction.
In rural communities like Furano, many young people lack access to meaningful learning opportunities or role models who can guide them.
Our goal is to help them rediscover purpose, build confidence, and believe in their ability to make a difference.

Through our Youth Support Program, we:
* Bridge the education and experience gap by offering opportunity to create memorable experiences and platform for alternative learning opportunities
* Provide volunteer and mentorship opportunities where youth can gain real-world experience and leadership skills
* Create inclusive community spaces where socially withdrawn youth can reconnect, contribute, and find belonging
* Support youth-led projects that channel creativity into social impact from tutoring local children to organising community eventsEvery activity is a step toward helping a young person find direction and meaning transforming isolation into confidence, and uncertainty into purpose.
