GiveInstead.sg event at St. John’s home for Elderly Persons
On the 12th of September 2024, the residents of St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons enjoyed an unforgettable evening of music, games, and joy, thanks to the generous support of Mr. Marco Low and the Lions Club of Singapore Central. This fun event, which GiveInstead.sg put together, featured a special performance by Ocarina Circle Kuon no Kai Yonabaru Olive, a talented ensemble that travelled from Okinawa Japan to bring music and happiness to the elderly community.
Yonabaru Olive then delivered a stunning performance, blending Western Ocarina melodies with traditional Japanese Koto accompaniment in a set called Healing the Heart. The music created a peaceful and uplifting atmosphere, deeply touching the 80 elderly residents in attendance.
Following the performance, the excitement continued with a lively Bingo game, with prizes sponsored by Mr. Marco Low and the Lions Club of Singapore Central. The residents competed for 50 prizes, including 3 grand prizes, adding to the fun and joy of the evening.
As the event concluded, each resident received a goodie bag as a token of appreciation. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Low, Lions Club of Singapore Central, and Southern Cross International’s Mr. Dany Heng, who made it possible for the performers to travel to Singapore. Without their generous contributions, this event would not have been such a success.
GiveInstead.sg is dedicated to bringing moments of joy and connection to the elderly, and we look forward to continuing this mission with the support of our dedicated fundraisers, sponsors and donors.
