Giveinstead.sg Founder Shoken Tsurumaru Named Finalist at President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards 2025
On Wednesday, 1 October 2025, Giveinstead.sg was proudly represented at the President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards (PVPA) 2025, where our founder Shoken Tsurumaru was recognised as a finalist in the People of Good (Student Category) for his efforts in reimagining how we give.
The PVPA is Singapore’s pinnacle award to honour individuals and organisations who have made outstanding contributions to volunteerism and philanthropy. This year’s ceremony was especially meaningful as Shoken had the honour of meeting President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, alongside many inspiring changemakers who are driving positive impact across Singapore.
Giveinstead.sg’s mission is to weave celebratory giving into our social fabric, making giving as natural and joyful as gifting, transforming special occasions into opportunities to uplift others. Since its inception, the platform has rallied donors to dedicate their celebrations toward causes they care about, channeling funds, joy, and compassion to thousands of lives.
We are immensely proud of this milestone and the recognition it brings, not just to Shoken, but to our growing community of donors, partners, and beneficiaries. Together, we show that even small acts of kindness, when given with intention, can ripple outward to create lasting change.
